Event description

How can a blog help your business? What tools can you use to manage and promote your blog? Is the only measure of a blog's success how useful it is to your readers? Is it okay to write a post that just give your readers a laugh? Why do the entertaining (funny/quirky/ creative) posts get read and commented on more? How do you find your own style?

Bring your best questions and join us as we share our collective blogging wisdom at the first Savvy Blogging: Lunch and More event. After short introductions, Bob will provide some basic info and resources on blogging, including ways to promote your blog. We break for lunch at noon and then spend the remaining time in informal discussions on the blog topics and issues of your choosing.

There is no charge for this event. Touchdowns provides the space for free in exchange for a lunch time purchase.

    Karen,

That reminds me of a scene in the movie Anchorman (why does everything remind me of a movie?), where Will Farrell's character (the movie is set back in the 70s) says:

"I'm taking up this new thing called 'jogging'. Or maybe it's called 'yogging.' Yes, I think the 'j' is soft."

However you spell it, blogging is becoming very popular. I look forward to seeing you at the event!

Darn, it's full already! This is becoming a theme, me missing out on your events! If a spot opens up, somebody e-mail me please - I'm not yet yogging (lol) and would love to explore the possibility.

We really didn't expect such a response to this, Valerie, although we're thrilled.

Dan's idea of a technology-enabled waiting list (I think Howard said they were considering this) is looking better all the time.

In the meantime, we'll see if we can send an e-mail out to all attendees to shoot you an e-mail if they are going to cancel. How's that?

  • Bob Dunn
Posted by Bob Dunn, Seattle and Renton, Washington | Aug 28, 2008

Hi Sandra, right now there isn't a feature of a waiting list, and we understand that might be in the works. So we are keeping track ourselves and have two others interested in filling a spot if it comes up. Will add you the the list as well.
