Whoo Hoo! A chance to network Biznik style closer to home and business at a time when I'm not pulling perfect shots at my Espresso Buono Garden Cafe in Lynnwood! I'll try to make this event. Thanks! Penny

Penny - what a great website you have, and such an interesting Biznik profile. It will be a pleasure meeting you and swapping stories... and now I'll have to stop by and try your coffee when I'm in your neighborhood too!

Yes, do drop by! It is fun to meet people in person as a result of bizniking on-line! Hope to see you at your event. Thanks for the positive comments...that sure helps to make one's day!

By the Way... Another reason to drop by... My place is a good location! for Biznik events! I have a back room that seats 12 friendly folks comfortably and I have access to larger and just as comfortable spaces for up to 60 folks for occassional events. I can also schedule private evening (after 5pm) events with advance notice and an event fee enough to cover my costs to stay open...usually $5 per person plus purchase of one menu item.

That sounds great Penny, I've been keeping my eye out for a venue close by that would hold more than my office so I could do some more workshop type events locally.

    We'll talk...

And furthermore, Dennis... I am very impressed by the referrals you have received on Biznik and may need to make an appointment to tell you about my long lasting neck/shoulder pain and off and on efforts toward mending. Sounds like you may be able to help! Hmmm.... Penny

Hi Elke, yes it will be great to catch up, it's been a while. And yes this venue has a wonderful feel to it, I haven't tried the food yet, so that will be a treat.

    See you there!!

will there be any moments of "shameless bragging", Dennis? Or just greet meet and eat?

  • Dennis Dilday
Posted by Dennis Dilday, Everett, Washington | Nov 27, 2008

Elke - you can bragg all you like, but if you mean those everybody-stop-what-you're-doing-and-listen-to-me bragging moments (Like my first event in 12/05 where we met:-), I don't think so. This place isn't really set up for that I don't think and it's probably going to be too loud in the rest of the restaurant.

It will kind of depent though because where we will be is separated from the rest of the restaurant, and if it turns out we are the only ones in that section, we can do what ever we like... as usual we'll have to figure it out as we go.

    Have a great Thanksgiving!

Things are getting a bit complex for Dec. 8th, but I still plan to attend this event. I may be more inclined to chill out than participate in formal bragging, however. We'll see.

I'm with the "chill out" form Penny. No worries. December can get stressful and complicated. Let's enjoy each other's company!

By the way, the food is divine there, and the leechee fizz...yum! I met another biznik there a few weeks ago, and I am so looking forward to return. cheers, the rev

Step one is to get there; we'll worry about Step two (what we do there) once we cross that bridge.

It is nice to take a look at the profiles of some of the people attending if you have time and feel like doing that. That way you already have a little info to start conversations. And an idea of where some of the conversations may go.

My approach is show up expecting to have a blast. Then take things as they come. As the host I'll make sure things go as well as possible, managing what can be managed if something needs managing, but mostly allowing the people that are there to interact in as natural a way as possible.

Choosing a great venue sets the stage for everyone to have fun no matter what. And between the number of people who have RSVP'd and all those who are not Biznik members and plan to attend but who can not RSVP, there are going to enough people so that anyone who wants to can have a great time.

Hey is anyone going to the anti-office party and want to do dinner before hand? cheers, have a happy hour or so, and be safe!, The rev

I started a new policy today... I put things in my planner in pencil if I haven't made and may not make a commitment, but might go and would like to go if it works out. That should help me, and I offer it as a technique that will allow you to quickly see where you are supposed to be and when, what you're doing and with whom.

Anyway, we'll miss you and catch you on the next opportunity. Have a blast where ever you are!!

Greetings Nicole and Deena and welcome to Biznik. You two are a great example of folks who might have a lot to talk together about. See the main Biznik blog for Lara's post about how networking the Biznik way can make a difference.

I look forward to seeing both of you on Monday night.

Well, a client just booked for a video shoot on Monday night, so that has to take priority. If I can get out of there fairly early I'll run up to terracotta red and see if anyone is still there. Hope you all have a good time!

    When - No problem.

Sara - we'll sing Happy Birthday with you if you like, and please do say hi, and visit as much as you wish.

Barbara - We'll do it again in February, stay tuned...

John - it's all about Business (well the part that isn't about fun is about business:-) so we understand and you can bet there will still be some of us there at 9 p.m. With this many people time flies...

Things got a little more hectic than I knew they would. We had a family funeral this weekend and have an out of town guest staying with us so I'm going to beg out of this evening's biznik gathering since I am working during days and unable to "entertain" til evenings. I AM interested in everyone attending, however, and hope to meet you another time! Have fun and meaningful conversations! Penny

Much thanks to everyone who attended; and to those who missed it we understand and will catch you next time. The pictures turned out nice...

And next time we will re-arrange the furniture so that there is some mingling room:-)

Anyway we had some fun, and those of us that were having fun were still there at 10 p.m.
