Hey, Jenny, what a cool idea! I'd suggest picking a time that works for you and posting it as a Biznik event. I'm almost never in Kirkland, but I'd bet you'd find some takers if you throw out a few times that way.
Eastside Walk and Talk
Greetings, I'm interested in starting an Eastside Walk and Talk. Think of it as a way to get some fresh air, stretch your legs, socialize and perhaps exchange some fresh ideas.
I'm based in downtown Kirkland, which has a scenic stroll along Lake Washington. Or we can meet in the downtown Bellevue Park, a lovely circular, clear path past a waterfall. Other ideas welcome.
Interested? Suggestions about times, days of week or locations?
Thanks in advance, -Jenny Z

Ah good!
For starters, Generally, what looks good for you and anyone else who wants to chime in? I pretty much set my schedule.
Regarding days of the week, the middle of the week is better for me (Tues.-Thurs.) My deadlines usually land on Monday or Friday.
Regarding time of day, what is more ideal? Again, I'm thinking downtown Kirkland, downtown Bellevue or alternating.
First thing in the morning -- get our energy going before the work day
Lunch break (close to noon) -- Keep our energy going
Happy hour (start around 4 p.m. or 5 p.m.) -- Walk off the day's tensions

I live in Kirkland. I'd be up for this! Mornings or lunch times mid-week are best for me.

I would be up for a walk and talk, but I have to warn you that I often have trouble doing two complex things at once. ;)
The waterfront in Kirkland is a good place IMHO.

How about 1 p.m. First and Third Wednesdays at the Kirkland waterfront? We can meet at the pavilion at Marina Park.
Why that time?
After our walk, folks can step over to downtown Kirkland's Wednesday market (opens at 2 p.m.) and get some goodies on their way out of town: Fresh vegetables, fruit, smoothies, shaved ice, bbq, pastries, cupcakes, etc. The market is two short blocks from Marina Park. Heck, we can finish our walk there if people want to.
Sound like a plan?

Sounds like good idea, I will be up for it. After hours works better for me though.

Giannini and I co-hosted a dog walk around Downtown Bellevue Park, also a good spot. Sounds like there are a lot of Kirkland people, but if you ever decide to come to Bellevue, I'm in!

Greetings, So we have interested folks in Kirkland, Bellevue and nearby. And middle of the week seems good. We can meet at Bellevue Park on occasion. The track is good and parking at Bellevue Square is f-r-e-e.
Because we're such a small crew, I'd like more input about start times. Please tell me every time that is "doable" so I can post events that will potentially include as many people as possible.
Based on a typical work week, please check all that might apply:
MORNING 7 a.m. 7:30 a.m. 8 a.m. 8:30 a.m. 9 a.m. Other morning time?
MID-DAY 11 a.m. 11:30 a.m. Noon 12:30 p.m. Other mid-day starting time?
AFTER HOURS 4 p.m. 4:30 p.m. 5 p.m. 5:30 p.m. 6 p.m. 6:30 p.m. Other after hours time?
Thanks, -jz

Great, thanks Sumesh.
So I think we have enough consensus to start this up and learn and grow as we go.
I think I'm going to put some flexibility in the date/time/location from week to week. Folks mentioned they have changing schedules and I think the Biznik Web site is robust enough to keep us informed and connected about upcoming walks.
There are some common threads for this new series: Locations: downtown Kirkland waterfront and downtown Bellevue Park Days: Wednesdays or Thursdays Times: Lunchtimes, Happy Hours or After Hours
Please keep sending me messages so we can learn and grow as needed.
So watch the events page.....here we go!
