Debra and PJ, here's the event you wanted.
Hope you can join us.
Thanks, Kaya. Subscribers only get alerts about new posts.
I'm planning a Biznik event about Twitter and will post some strategies on my website within the week.
Joe
@LeilaAnasazi, thanks for catching the broken link.
This article link should work now.
@kayasinger, thanks for the note. That certainly is one strategy I'm using.
Click here for a fantastic trick I learned today from Mad Men.
Kaya, I'd encourage you to subscribe to my site. I'll post more as I learn it.
More great marketing on Twitter.
The cast of AMC's Mad Men started following me. I got into a conversation with @bettydraper having no idea that she was fictitious.
She referred to @francine_hanson in her reply so I started to converse with her.
It's only after @ken_cosgrove started following me and I went to his bio link that I figured it out.
And now ... I want to watch the series!
Mission accomplished!
Jeff, I almost did the same thing and complimented one of my vendors as "the best" when I realized that other vendors are following me. I wrote it all out, then deleted it.
Debra, yes, that would be a good idea. Track this string and I'll announce an upcoming date.
If you haven't already, read this article. It highlights the best of what I've found so far.
Amy, visited your site and your present tagline gave me an idea.
Your tagline could be as simple (and benefit driven as):
You'll do your best work when (fill in the blank) ~ your space is right? ~ you're comfortable?
I think 'launching pad' is creative but that most readers won't relate to it, and therefore not click.
See "frame of reference" here.
Oh, and don't forget to let everyone know your Twitter name so we can find you there!
Amy, I would keep some derivation of 'you' and/or 'your' in the tagline.
Bliss starts when you're comfortable in your space.
Heart Walk is Saturday.

Denise, very good!
I would specifically call out your former vocation.
It is a superlative supporting claim. Joe
Thank you both. It was fun for me too.
Amy, what you've written is very good.
For reference, it's kind of a positioning statement plus some copy, but it you have a solid understanding of who you're targeting, what you offer, and why we should believe.
It's all good.
Let me think about the tagline a bit. Joe
Leila, I'm not sure I'm tracking with the idea.
Tell us more?
Amy, what's your positioning statement?
Then we can solve for your copy. Joe
Leila, that was very nice. Thank you.
Yuno, I'm going to have to think on this one.
Thanks.
I have Squidooed, but I don't have the need anymore since I have my own blog now.
I suppose I could copy + paste my content there, but it is more effort than it is worth for me since my blog is just "play time" for me instead of business generating.
Yuno,
I wonder, then, if your bilingual skills belong in your positioning statement. Do you ever use it in your selling?
What might you have to offer young couples that could set you apart from every other real estate agent?
Yuno,
To whom? First-time home buyers needs to be narrowed. What is characteristic of the first-time home buyers you want to work with?
You get the idea.
Who and What? Yuno is the bi-lingual real estate agent.
Benefit (and supporting claims) are really going to depend on how you answer the first three.
Help me understand, if you were to focus exclusively on Japanese customers, would the market be large enough for you?
Remember, where you spend your time marketing is one thing. The customers you accept can be another.
That is, if you were to spend your focus on marketing to people whose first language is Japanese and a French speaker were to hire you, congratulations! You got a new customer.
But that doesn't mean you should spend a minute marketing to them.
Thank you, Kate, that's nice of you to say.
I look forward to meeting you tomorrow.
To prepare, definitely read "The First Three Questions" here on Biznik and poke around my website under "Marketing Strategy" and "Online Brand Building."
Joe
Yuno,
To get the most out of tomorrow, it would be great if you could read as many of my Biznik articles as you can in advance, especially "The First Three Questions" and "Real Estate Marketing."
