Johanna Kaeppner has been involved in visual communications for a very long time. She studied graphic design at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin, Germany. She started as a graphic designer designing and producing publications for the federal government, businesses and associations in Ottawa. She progressed to electronic desktop publishing and hasn't stopped upgrading her technology skills since. She has taken courses in multimedia, 3-D animation, web application development and web design. She has worked both full time and as a freelancer in graphic design, desktop publishing and web design/development.

She designs and develops sites using a number of open-source content management system sites like Joomla, Joomla/VirtueMart, Drupal, ZenCart and OpenRealty.
