I am a highly trained existentially and psychoanalytically oriented psychotherapist/counselor. As such, I help individuals work through questions of meaning, personal identity, repetitive relationship problems, family disputes, aging and mortality, and career problems. For me, the objective of couples counseling is to provide tools, resources, and ideas that help couples attain their mutual goals, which may include a continued marriage, a new type of relationship, or a complete ending. To this end, I do crisis work, in which couples believe that they must make immediate relational decisions. I also do relationship building and developmental work that helps already-strong marriages become even better and happier.

With regard to business counseling, it is often the case that the kind of cooperative intervention I provide can obviate the need for litigation. I work within an integrative negotiation model, in which solutions are always win-win/cooperative, rather than competitive/win-lose dynamically. I have worked with large corporations, S-corporations, partnerships, law firms, some governmental entities, non-profit organizations, and other groups. I am trained in mathematical, game-theory models of economics, and am also a very experienced professional ethicist. As such, the service I provide to high-conflict business partners always strives for solutions that are efficient and that also promote the highest ethical standards of practice. As a part of my tookit, I am also well trained in written and oral communication, non-verbal communication, and intercultural communication.
