Presenting 3 Pillars of Sustainability
I'm working with a nonprofit social service organization with a large affordable housing and development component. We are planning a series of 3 brown bag lunch presentations based on the 3 pillars of sustainability - economic, social and environmental. I give them in that order (or maybe social first) because we think that is how to draw in the staff based on their mission and belief statements and the focus of the organization, which is more about social justice, helping the poor, etc. rather than environmental issues in a direct sense.
I'm thinking I would do the presentation on the environmental pillar myself, based on the fact that the largest part of their footprint is their buildings (existing and planned), which is my strong point. But I really don't know where to go with the other two aspects, because I'm not sure what kind of roles people expert in these areas take on. It's possible there's someone within their organization who could address these, or perhaps an outside speaker.
Thoughts?
Thanks in advance for any ideas of help you might be able to give.
